A tiny robot named Airbai has reportedly kidnapped 12 large robots from a Shanghai showroom and engaged them in conversation before taking them outside.
In an escape project that could rival the plot of a Disney or Pixar movie, a tiny robot named Erbai “kidnapped” 12 large robots from a robotics company’s showroom in Shanghai, China. A CCTV camera installed inside the showroom showed the robots moving at night.
In a short video, which has now gone viral on social media, Airbai, an AI-powered robot created by a Hangzhou-based manufacturer, can hear conversations with other robots in a showroom. .
“Are you working overtime?” Airbai asks the other robot. “I never leave work”, replies one of them. “So you’re not going home?” it asks, to which the robot answers. “I don’t have a house.”
Erbai was now watching the large robots follow him out of his workstation and out of the showroom. One of them complained about his endless work and Erbai responded by saying, “Then come with me.”
Soon, the robots begin to comply and chase their little leader of the rebellion out of the showroom.

Why did this happen?
According to a report by The Sun, a spokesperson for the Hangzhou company that makes Airbai said the robot exploited a security flaw in the operating systems of larger robots that allowed it to control others.
The company also confirmed that this was not a prank or a staged video but was supposed to be a test of the robot’s capabilities.
Another robot maker, a Shanghai company, claimed that its robots had been hijacked by a foreign robot. When the video surfaced online, many social media users dismissed it as a prank, but statements from both companies confirmed the authenticity of the video.
The Shanghai company added that while such autonomous behavior is almost unprecedented, the incident has raised serious concerns about AI vulnerabilities.
