The BJP released its much-awaited manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls this morning, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on ‘Gyan’ – the poor, youth, farmers and women. With a statue of BR Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution on stage, the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP chief JP Nadda released the party manifesto at the BJP headquarters in Delhi.
The Prime Minister said the manifesto focuses on the four pillars of Vakshat Bharat – women power, youth power, farmers and the poor. He said it focuses on “dignity of life” and “quality of life”, the quantity of opportunities as well as the quality of opportunities. The Prime Minister said that the government will focus on bringing piped gas to all homes and providing free electricity through solar energy.
The manifesto states that the Centre’s free ration scheme will be extended for 5 years. It said the government would focus on self-reliance in production of pulses, edible oil and vegetables to stabilize prices and protect the plates of the poor. Ayushman Bharat Scheme and PM Awas Yojana will be expanded and drinking water will be provided to every household.
Addressing the media, Mr. Nadda summarized the achievements of the BJP government in power during the last decade. He reiterated that ‘Modi’s guarantee’ — the BJP’s key election slogan — “is a guarantee that all guarantees will be fulfilled”.
Referring to the Covid pandemic, the BJP chief said that while developed countries are oscillating between prioritizing the economy and the health of their citizens, the Narendra Modi government’s decisive steps have helped India recover from the effects of Covid. Helped. He also said that India brought two vaccines and 220 crore doses within nine months and also helped reach other countries with shots.
Next was Defense Minister Singh, who is also the chairman of the 27-member committee that drafted the manifesto.
Mr. Singh said that the BJP’s promises ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections have been fulfilled. He listed the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill and the construction of the Ayodhya Ram temple as his key achievements, saying, “What we say, we do.”
Mr. Singh said that BJP’s manifesto was prepared on the basis of 1.5 lakh suggestions from across the country and laid out the road map of Vikasht Bharat with focus on social justice. “Modi’s pledge is considered 24 carat gold, so our manifesto is the gold standard of manifestos for parties around the world,” he said.
