2. Olympic Games Paris 2024 (26 July 2024 – 11 August 2024)

(a) The Indian hockey team defeated Great Britain 4-2 in a penalty shootout and reached the semi-finals.

(b) India’s golden boy Neeraj Chopra will begin his defense of the Paris 2024 Olympics men’s javelin throw title from the qualification round on Tuesday.

The reigning Olympic and world champion set a season’s best of 88.36m at the Doha Diamond League in May. He holds the national record of 89.94m, achieved in June 2022 at the Stockholm Diamond League in Sweden.

(c) The Department of Posts will issue a set of commemorative stamps in Delhi to celebrate the Paris Olympics.
