In a heart-stopping moment captured on video, a 2-year-old toddler unexpectedly collided with a giraffe at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, just south of Fort Worth, Texas.

The incident, which did not harm the 2-year-old but certainly startled him, quickly gained attention after the footage circulated online. Shared by @expressnews on Instagram, the caption mentioned, “Jason and Sierra Totten bring their 2-year-old daughter Paisley to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, which offers a drive-through safari where Guests can interact with dozens of species face-to-face.”

2 years old Paisley was sitting in the bed of a truck, trying to feed a large giraffe when things took an unexpected turn. A hungry giraffe notices the bag of food next to Paisley, but in his eagerness for a snack, inadvertently grabs his shirt. This resulted in a brief moment where he lifted her up into the sky before promptly releasing her into her mother’s arms.

“The safety of our guests and animals is always of the utmost importance to us,” said a spokesperson Fossil Rim Wildlife Center said. “Although an incident like this has never happened here before, we are taking immediate action to ensure it does not happen again, Spectrum News reported.

Fortunately, Paisley emerged from the encounter unscathed. After watching the video, one user wrote, “Toddler riding in an open pickup bed? Seriously?” Meanwhile, another user said, “Clearly they didn’t follow the safari park rules of just rolling down the windows, staying in your car, etc!! And should be fined! Also, put that baby in a car seat. And the third said, “The giraffe said, “Catch your baby before I catch it for you”.
