It’s quite a buzzword in the gift and home industry – “trends.” Whether it’s consumer trends, product trends or market trends, our industry seems obsessed with them, and for good reason. With a dazzling array of products and possibilities across multiple categories, it can be difficult to zero in on which products to invest in and highlight for consumers. This is why gifts and decorative accessories hold its annual event. Gift Book Consumer Survey and then analyzes the data to generate a list of product trend reports. The team then summarizes the findings in their annual Trend Outlook webinar.
In the latest webinar held on November 19, the team reviewed nine of the industry’s largest categories, including fashion, holiday, candles, home, gourmet, bath and body, stationery, kids and giftables, and Presented a brief overview of them. Some of the top trends and key topics within each category.
Increases in more polished apparel, especially for the office, interest in welcome mats and accent rugs, demand for Halloween decorations, and interest in candle holders and medicinal ingredients in bath and body products.
